The breakfast was an informative discussion on the future of energy in Queensland. The panel discussed the opportunities and challenges for the sector. It also explored the key policy issues that need to be addressed to ensure energy plays a key role in enabling and contributing to the State’s social and economic growth.
Some of the points raised were:
- energy policy needs to develop apolitically to succeed;
- the cost of energy has increased due to a move to a low carbon energy environment;
- you don’t need a base load station operating all the time – supply simply needs to match demand; and
- need for cleaner, safer and cheaper energy.
Thank you to our panel and moderator.
